  • Chuah Poo Sian, C.A. (M) MIA, ACCA — Director
    Mr. Chuah was admitted as a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) on 9 April 1987 and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (ACCA) on 22 May 1991. Commencing his illustrious career at Coopers & Lybrand in 1978, Mr. Chuah helmed leadership of the Share Registration division within the firm from 30 September 1994. In 2005, he partnered with Total Corporate Compliance Sdn. Bhd., and saw the acquisition by The Bank of East Asia and subsequent rebranding as Tricor Services (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Tricor). During his tenure at Tricor, Mr. Chuah continued to spearhead the Share Registration business until gracefully transitioning responsibilities to his successor in year 2009. In 2016, Mr. Chuah furthered his entrepreneurial endeavours by establishing Coopers Professional Scrutineers Sdn. Bhd. Building on this success, he proceeded to establish AscendServ Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. in early 2024, marking yet another milestone in his distinguished career. LinkedIn
  • Wong Yoke Fun, FCIS (CS)(CGP) — Senior Advisor
    Ms. Wong is a highly accomplished veteran in the capital markets particularly in the listing and initial public offering (IPO) scene as a trailblazer in this industry. She was the Senior Executive Director/Chief Executive of a reputable share registrar and issuing house services provider and Director/Trust Officer/ Principal Officer of a Labuan licensed trust company prior to her departure from her employment at end-October 2024 to join the AscendServ Group. Ms. Wong has 30 years of working experience where 25 years were in senior management position. She has been an Associate of the Malaysian Association of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) since 1998 and a Fellow member since 2016. Ms. Wong started her career in 1994 with a 5-year stint at Tenaga Koperat Sdn. Bhd., the company secretarial division of Coopers & Lybrand, before joining Total Corporate Compliance Sdn. Bhd. (TCC) as Director of Corporate Services in 1999. In 2002, Ms. Wong was appointed to assist in overseeing TCC’s enlarged Share Registration division arising from acquisition. (TCC and its group of companies was later acquired by Tricor in 2005; Tricor is a global provider of integrated Business, Corporate and Investor Services.) During her 25 years tenure at her previous employment, Ms. Wong played a central role in the development and implementation of new software and new online platform to increase the use of technology to replace/reduce manual methodologies; she was most notable for bringing innovation and digitalisation to the share registration/issuing house industry by introducing many market changing products such as new processing/balloting system, electronic voting-by-poll at meetings. These innovations raised the overall industry standards and revolutionised the landscape of the share registration industry.   • Annie Wong, ACIS (CS)(CGP) — Senior Advisor
    Annie, a seasoned professional, was elected Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators since 13 March 1998. With over three decades of experience in company secretarial services, she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to her profession. Annie joined Tenaga Koperat Sdn. Bhd. (the company secretarial division of Coopers & Lybrand) in 1994 and in 1999, she joined Total Corporate Compliance Sdn. Bhd. (TCC) as Director of Corporate Services. Following TCC’s merger with Tricor Services (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., Annie was promoted in October 2009 as Tricor’s Head of Corporate Secretarial services, where she played a pivotal role in driving the division's growth and success. Throughout her tenure until 2023, Annie’s leadership at Tricor propelled the Corporate Secretarial practice to unprecedented levels of growth and success, earning her widespread recognition and acclaim within the industry. Her strategic vision and unwavering dedication have firmly established her as a respected leader in the corporate secretarial landscape. Annie brings with her a rich tapestry of experience and expertise accumulated from managing a diverse portfolio of clientele ranging from private limited companies, multinational corporations and publicly listed entities.   • Rebecca Kong, ACIS (CS)(CGP) — Director, Corporate Services
    Rebecca was elected Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in May 2000. She brings with her a wealth of nearly three decades of relevant working experience where the immediate past 6 years, she was a specialist in initial public offerings (IPOs) and Malaysian public listed companies (PLCs). Immediately prior to joining AscendServ in April 2024, Rebecca was the named Company Secretary of 8 PLCs and 13 IPOs. Rebecca started her career in the company secretarial industry in 1995 honing her knowledge at professional firms such as CS Secretarial Services Sdn. Bhd., Tenaga Koperat Sdn. Bhd. and Total Corporate Compliance Sdn. Bhd. During her stint at these renowned professional firms, Rebecca was actively involved in the provision of secretarial services and advisory to private and public companies, non-profit making associations, incorporation of foundations, preparation of monthly accounts, work permit applications, independent scrutineer job, application for licences such as trademark, franchise and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) among others. She ventured into the commercial sector in year 2000 and joined Malaysian Plantations Berhad (the holding company of Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad) as the Assistant Company Secretary. She later joined UTSB Management Sdn. Bhd., the secretarial arm of Usaha Tegas Sdn. Bhd. - the ultimate holding company of Maxis Berhad and ASTRO Malaysia Holdings Berhad - where she managed the secretarial compliance of its public listed company, MEASAT Global Berhad, and its group of companies. Rebecca joined Tricor Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. in August 2017 serving in its IPO Specialist Team and was promoted to Group Leader overseeing a team of 14 staff handling over 400 companies the following year. The IPO Specialist Team specialised in all things concerning PLCs such as IPOs and the restructuring of companies planning for listing, either on the Main, ACE or LEAP Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. Rebecca left Tricor in March 2024 where her last held position was Associate Director. LinkedIn
  • Yeng Shi Mei, BBA (Hons), ACIS (CS)(CGP) — Director, Corporate Services
    Shi Mei obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia in 2005 and was elected Associate of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) in December 2009. She has under her belt almost 20 years of sound corporate secretarial experience from overseeing an extensive portfolio of clients more particularly foreign-owned multinationals, as well as domestic and public listed companies. She was the named Company Secretary on the board of 7 PLCs prior to joining AscendServ (formerly AxcelServ) in April 2024. Shi Mei started her professional career in the company secretarial practice in February 2006 serving at Norvic Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. before moving on to Tricor Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. in January 2008 where she served 16 years. She was an Associate Director and Group Leader of a dedicated team specialising in managing and catering to the corporate needs of foreign-owned companies and multinationals prior to her resignation from Tricor in March 2024. While at Tricor, Shi Mei was exposed to a wide variety of corporate exercises such as IPOs, corporate restructuring, employee share scheme, private placement, share capital reduction, dividend reinvestment plan, incorporation of private companies and registration of foreign branches, to name a few. Special projects she handled include preparation of Business Continuity Plan and due diligence exercise for the proposed acquisition of business among others. LinkedIn
  • Lilian Low, PDCA — Chief Operating Officer
    Lilian started her career in the professional corporate investor services industry in 1997 when she joined the Share Registration division of Tenaga Koperat Sdn. Bhd. (TKSB), the secretarial and share registration services division of Coopers & Lybrand, as an Executive. Lilian rose through the rank and file and in the process, is very adept and well versed with every aspect of the investor services industry after having clocked more than 25 years of working experience. TKSB was acquired by The Bank of East Asia in 2005 and rebranded as Tricor Investor Services Sdn. Bhd. (TIS), a member of the Tricor Group. Tricor is a globally renowned professional corporate services provider reputed for its suite of integrated Business, Corporate and Investor solutions to entities worldwide. During her 27 years’ tenure in her past employment, she has been involved in providing share registrar services to public listed companies, and for the immediate past 10 years, Lilian was also acting as the Director overseeing the provision of issuing house services to companies seeking listing via initial public offering. With nearly 3 decades experience in the share registration industry and a decade in the issuing house services from the ground level up to the position of Director, Lilian has amassed an invaluable wealth of deep insightful knowledge and expertise of the investor services industry, having been an active hands-on participant in its evolution from heavily manual processes to the paperless digitised systems and automated processes now.   • Jeff Ong, LLB (Hons) — Head of Strategy, Legal and Compliance
    Jeff obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the Multimedia University in 2013. He commenced his legal career with Cheah Teh & Su in April 2013 specialising in complex commercial disputes. In May 2018, he joined HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad as Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Manager, overseeing the bank’s compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia's rules and regulations. Jeff joined Tricor in May 2021 as Senior Manager – Head of Legal and Compliance. He swiftly rose through the ranks to the position of Associate Director in October 2021 and in March 2023, was made a Director, making him the company's youngest individual to achieve such a distinguished position. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he was promoted to Head of Legal – ASEAN of Vistra (a merged entity with Tricor) in November 2023, a position he held until April 2024. During his tenure at Tricor, he was instrumental in setting up the legal and compliance team from the ground up. His recent accolades include being a recipient of the esteemed Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Southeast Asia 2023 and Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Malaysia 2023, in recognition of his achievements and milestones in driving organisational success.   • Jesslyn Lam, ACIS (CS)(CGP) — Service Consultant
    Jesslyn has been an Associate of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) since 1998. She joined AscendServ (formerly AxcelServ) in March 2024 and has chalked nearly three decades of relevant working experience from her long career in one of Malaysia’s top professional firm serving in various roles and capacities. Jesslyn commenced her professional secretarial career in 1991 with PFA Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. (PFA), the company secretarial division of Deloitte KassimChan, and in 1993, was transferred to KassimChan Tax Services Sdn. Bhd. for a year. She left the professional sector and joined the shipping arm of the Kuok Group of Companies in October 1995 where she was the Company Secretary, Administration and Personnel Head of Malaysian Bulk Carriers Sdn. Bhd. and its Group until her departure in mid-1999. Jesslyn rejoined PFA in 1999 to set up its branch in Melaka where, as the Branch Head, she managed all aspects of the Branch’s operations, growth and development. (PFA was subsequently rebranded as Tricor Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. in 2006 after its acquisition by The Bank of East Asia). In 2013, Tricor appointed her the Co-Head and Compliance Officer of its offshore corporate services firm in Labuan, Tricor Trustco (Labuan) Limited and she was approved as a Trust Officer by the Labuan Financial Services Authority (LFSA) in July 2013. Jesslyn was subsequently charged with Business Development of the Tricor Group of Companies. Throughout her long tenure with the Tricor Group, Jesslyn had stepped up to new roles and responsibilities when the opportunities arose and had accumulated invaluable exposure and priceless experience. She left the Tricor Group at end 2016 where her last position was Director of Tricor Trustco (Labuan) Limited to pursue her other interests. LinkedIn
  • Joanna Tan, ACIS – Manager, Corporate Services
    Joanna was elected Associate of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) in May 2018. She has almost 11 years of hands-on professional experience in the corporate secretarial services industry and is well-versed in the corporate laws, regulations, compliance and governance requirements of private and public companies and registered entities in Malaysia. Joanna commenced her professional secretarial career in June 2013 with Tricor Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. where she served 8.5 years before moving to Workshire Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. and subsequently to Boardroom Corporate Services Sdn. Bhd. in June 2023 as Manager. Joanna joined AscendServ (formerly AxcelServ) in mid-July 2024. During her tenure with these professional management firms, she was entrusted to manage, support and provide advisory services to a portfolio of clients consisting of PLCs (at least 9 PLCs) and private companies, foreign branch and company limited by guarantee (CLBG) and received in-depth exposure to corporate exercises such as private placements, rights issue with warrants, IPOs, etc. LinkedIn
  • Chris Tan, ACIS – Manager, Corporate Services
    Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Corporate Administration (Hons) from the Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Kuala Lumpur in 2016. She was admitted as an Associate of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) in 2020. Chris embarked on her career as a Company Secretary in 2017, demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence in corporate governance from the outset. Over the past 7 years, she has amassed extensive experience in corporate secretarial practice having served as a Company Secretary both in the professional and commercial sectors, becoming a trusted advisor in the field. Throughout her career, Chris played a pivotal role in guiding clients through the complexities of the Malaysian Companies Act, Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia, and the Malaysian Code of Corporate Governance. Her strategic advisory on corporate secretarial matters has been instrumental in ensuring compliance and fostering sound corporate practices within the organizations she serves. Chris’ last position was Manager, Company Secretarial Department of a company in association with a legal firm based in Kuala Lumpur with a branch in Johor, prior to her joining AscendServ (formerly AxcelServ) in mid-August 2024.
  • Alven Lai, BBA – Manager, Operations, Share Registration and Investor Services
    Alven graduated from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2010. He started his working career as an Associate with AIA Shared Services Sdn. Bhd. (AIASS) in 2011. During his 4 years with AIASS, Alven was involved in shared services operations particularly to provide insurance and finance support operations to other AIA entities across the Asia-Pacific regions. Alven joined Tricor Investor & Issuing House Services Sdn. Bhd. (TIIH) in 2017 as an Executive and was promoted to the position of Manager in 2022. During his 7-year stint at TIIH, Alven participated actively in various corporate exercises of public listed companies (PLCs) which included rights issue, bonus issue, dividend re-investment plan, capital repayment, take-over offers and issuance of new securities. He also assisted in a number of PLCs to harness technology to conduct virtual general meetings. In the process, he received invaluable exposure to the business of share registration/investor services as well as issuing house. Alven was actively involved with every IPO that TIIH handled in 2023 (20 IPOs) and 2024 (20 IPOs). Alven’s last position in TIIH was a Manager, Investor Services, when he left in mid-August 2024 to join AscendServ. LinkedIn
  • Stephanie Wee, MS, BS - Manager, Client Service, Share Registration and Investor Services
    Stephanie graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, USA with a Master of Science in Sports Administration in 2015, and from the Bemidji State University, Minnesota, USA with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2012 with a focus on finance and accounting. Stephanie is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in investor relations, corporate affairs, and financial analysis and has a proven track record in managing investor services, corporate communications, and financial reporting for various industries. Stephanie started her career at Sunway REIT Management Sdn. Bhd. in 2016 as a Finance Executive, later moving to the Investor Relations Department. There, she organized meetings with fund managers, coordinated the annual report, and supported the Malaysian REIT Managers Association (MRMA), including hosting the inaugural MRMA conference in 2019. She further advanced her expertise at UOA Development Berhad and Aquilas Advisory before taking on a significant role as Manager, Investor Services, at Tricor Investor & Issuing House Services Sdn. Bhd. in 2022, where she managed the IPO process for more than 40 companies over a span of 2 years. Stephanie joined AscendServ in September 2024, bringing her strategic insights and proven track record to her new role. LinkedIn
